Entering the darkened room, the barefoot visitor is greeted by the exuberant yellow of turmeric, the carpet of spice releasing a pungent earthy scent. This enveloping scent is accentuated by the warmth of the vintage heaters which glow coppery orange in groupings throughout the room.
The visitor leaves with a heightened awareness of sensory experience - scent, temperature, texture, color - and a souvenir of stained yellow foot bottoms.
